What is Lights On Tampa?

Lights On Tampa is a public/private partnership between the City of Tampa’s Art Programs Division and the Public Art Alliance, a 501 (c) 3 organization. The event brings free access to artistic excellence through innovative and interactive public art experiences.

This free event is family-friendly and takes place two consecutive nights: February 20th and Saturday, February 21st, 2015 from 6:00 - 11:00 p.m. Both nights feature two choreographed performances of Nick Cave's "HEARD-Tpa" at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Is LOT free?

There is no fee for admission into the event. Vendors will be on-site to sell food and beverages.

What happens if it rains?

Most of the installations will go on, in the event of rain.

Is LOT kid friendly?

Yes, Lights On Tampa is a family friendly event.

What type of food will be at LOT 2015?

Food vendors are being solidified by our community partner, Tampa Bay Markets, and will provide ethnic light bites at the event. Event goers will find such things as popcorn, cotton candy, bbq, donuts, and empanadas.   Remember, there are several amazing restaurants in downtown  Tampa – Lights On Tampa is from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m., so there is plenty of time to grab dinner immediately before, or after.  For a listing of restaurants,  Please visit http://www.tampasdowntown.com/play/downtown-tampa-dining.aspx

Can I purchase alcohol at LOT?

Yes, beer stations will be set up in both Curtis Hixon and Kiley Garden. There will be an assortment of craft and domestic beers, courtesy Cigar City Brewing.  Proceeds of beer sales benefit the 501 (c) 3 organization, Public Art Alliance.

Where do I park?

There is parking available throughout downtown Tampa in private and public lots. For a map with suggestions on parking, please download this map (PDF).  The event takes place at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park along the Hillsborough River. Additionally, please visit the Tampa Downtown Partnership's interactive downtown map which also shows more parking options.  

You can also ride your bike! Tampa Bike Valet will be on-site providing free and secure bike parking for guests. 

Other transportation options to LOT:

Biking: Lights On Tampa will have a bike valet on-site at the event! Look for Tampa Bike Valet at the front of Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park who will be on-site providing free and secure bike parking for guests. 

Buses: HART Buses travel throughout Tampa. Visit their website for bus routes http://www.gohart.org/

Teco Streetline Car: The Teco Streetline car can be accessed from Ybor City or Channelside. For pricing and scheduling please visit  http://www.tecolinestreetcar.org/

Where can I stay?

Where do I enter?

Entrances into the event can be found in both Kiley Garden and Curtis Hixon Park.

What can I bring?

Stay a while! Feel free to bring a picnic.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, four-legged friends are welcome, but not advised. There will be many people and not a lot of open space.

Where are restrooms located?

Port-o-lets can be found in-between Curtis Hixon and Kiley Garden.
